We continue to seek support for the joint ED-ICU study regarding the "Timing of the return of the pupillary light reflex after resuscitation from cardiac arrest after resuscitation from cardiac arrest". The study aims to explore the link between the pupillary light reflex following ROSC in an effort to develop improved neurological prognostication in such patients.
All adult emergency department cardiac arrest patients in whom ROSC is achieved should have a pupillometer measurement taken. I have attached the project poster (above) that should help explain the purpose of the study and how the device is used. It is very, very simple to use and not time-consuming. All ED staff, residents and RNs are encouraged to use the device.
If you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Karalyn.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance.
