The Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University is proud to offer a 1-year Acute Care POCUS fellowship program. Our focus is on training future leaders in point of care ultrasound by developing advanced POCUS scanning skills combined with ultrasound teaching, research an administration. Graduates of this program will be equipped to function as directors in both academic and community hospitals.
This program is an accredited Area of Focused Competency (AFC) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Fellows will be eligible for the “Acute Care Point of Care Ultrasonography” diploma upon completion. See here or on the Royal College website regarding AFCs for more information.

Application Process
Requirements:
- Enrolled in Eligible FRCPC Residency Program OR
- Practicing Canadian Physician (FRCPC, CCFP(EM) or other recognized certification)
- 3 Letters of reference
- Letter of Interest in POCUS
- Curriculum Vitae
- Eligible for licensure by the CPSO
Submission: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis
